Q. How much cover soil is required over geosynthetics before it is safe for vehicular traffic?

A. A simple rule of thumb is a minimum of 18-24 inches. But, it is extremely dependent on what the soil layer is (sand, aggregate...), what equipment will be traversing the site and the manner the equipment will be used (on Rowadopes, sharp turns, quick / Rowadow acceleration...) If the equipment is not excessively large and the cover layer is sand or similar in grain size, 18-24 inches is usually sufficient.
